Smile Card

So for todays blog post I just wanted to do a simple, fresh card, that makes some one smile.

I used:
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3PK - Intricate African Florals #660498
Sizzix Bigz Die - African Florals #660490
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Tribal Borders #660502,
Craft Asylum Best Friends Clear Stamp Set

I die cut all the Thinlits dies out of white smooth card, and the Bigz die out of plain coloured paper. I trimmed about an inch of the right edge. In the inside IU attached a strip of green paper. Then I attach the trim on the right edge.

I then layered the flowers together and add them to the card.

Finally I stamped the message using black ink.

Simple, but hopefully will make some one smile.

Hello Lovely card!

Last month I got one of the hottest products in the craft market, Tim Holtz new Distress Crayons for Ranger. I couldn't wait to get a play, so here you have the results.

Aside from the Distress Crayons, I used my Big Shot machine, Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Tribal Borders #660502, Craft Asylum Tribal Adventure Clear Stamp Set, Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3PK - Winter Wishes
#660882, as well as black pigment ink, clear embossing powder and smooth white card.

I started by applying a generous stripe of each of the rainbow colours on to a white smooth card, making sure that the colours overlapped.

Using a broad water brush loaded with plain water, I brushed over the lines to blend them.

Using the straight trim I die cut five strips.



I then glue them to the card.



The intensity of the the colours of the crayons stands out against the white card.

I die cut the sentiment, then pressed the ink pad across and emboss it using clear embossing powder and heat embossed it using a heat gun. I did two layers of embossing powder to create a really glossy three dimensional effect.

Then I stamped the messages from the tribal stamped set and emboss them using clear embossing powder. Then I cut around them and add them to the card using foam pads.

Tribal stamped card

I am back with one of my favourite stamping type of cards which is to create a colourful wreath perfect for the spring.

I used only the Craft Asylum Tribal Adventure Clear Stamp Set, an acrylic block, inks and buttons. Very simple but quite full of colour and pretty shapes.

I first draw a 4" circle (you can use a die cut circle, a little plate...) and then I stamped first the larger flower three times, then the second largest flower, and so on until the whole wreath was complete.

Finally I added the sentiment, the little hearts and glued the buttons.

A stamping resist butterfly

Another crayon card!

I used:

Craft Asylum All the Pretty Things Clear Stamp Set 17pcs

Craft Asylum Best Friends Embellishment Set 

Embossing ink pad

Wow Clear embossing powder

Heat gun

Water soluble crayons 

Adhesives

Square card

For this one, I simply stamped the butterfly from the Craft Asylum All the Pretty Things Clear Stamp Set using an embossing ink pad. Then I sprinkled Wow Clear embossing powder over it and melt it using a heat gun. Once it cooled down I just scribbled three different coloured crayons.

Using a generously wet brush and blended the colours together.

Finally, once completely dry, I added the sticker from the Best Friends Embellishment Set.

A messy clean card

Here I am with a messy clean card.

I used:

Sizzix Big Shot Machine Only
Craft Asylum Best Friends Embellishment Set 
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Bountiful Botany
Water soluble Fuchsia crayon
Adhesives
Square card

To make it I used a water soluble Fuchsia crayon (there are a lot of different ones out there, any will do as long as they are water soluble). I scribble three circles in the front of the card. then with a wet brush I blended the colour roughly.

Using white card I die cut the flowers from the Bountiful Botany set and attached them to the front of the card. Then I added the Label, buttons and brad from the Best Friends Embellishment Set.

Very quick and fun to make!

Happy New Year!

Today I am sharing a simple winter card perfect for January.

I have used Craft Asylum Best Friends Embellishment Set, a white square card and pink glitter.

I attached doubles sided adhesive sheet to the top right corner of the card. Then, following the angle I started adding ribbon (from the embellishment set), leaving small gaps in between. 

Once the whole area was covered, I sprinkled the glitter over it, so it only attached to where the adhesive is exposed.

Finally I added the two tags and button also from the embellishment set.

I love the mix of textures of the ribbon and glitter. The cool colours from this lovely collection makes it perfect for a winter greeting.

Stag head Home decor by Paula Pascual

Hello! 

Today I am sharing a very simple project but I think its great for many rooms.

Its a simple embroidery hoop with a die cut element in it.

I used 

• Sizzix Big Shot 
• Sizzix Bigz Die Stag's Head
• Fabric
• Embroidery hoop
• Heat n Bond Extra 

I simply Iron the Heat n Bond to the back of the red cotton fabric and let it cool down. Then i die cut the stag head and iron it to the whit cotton.

I then placed it on the embroidery hoop and trim any white excess.

It took little time but makes a lovely all year round decoration!

The Strolling Bear Christmas decoration by Paula Pascual

Only a few more days till Christmas!

Today I am sharing how to make this simple but perfect for winter decoration using the Strolling Bear Bigs die from craft Assylum.

I have used:

• Sizzix Big Shot 
• Sizzix Bigz Die Strolling Bear
• White Mountboard

I simply die cut eight bears using white mount board and stuck them all together. Then I attached white cotton fabric to one piece of mount board and then die cut it and attached it to the rest. 

You can see all the layers here.

I then used distress inks to colour the two elements that the die also cuts. And added the black pearl for his eye.

As a base I cut four circles and attached them together. 

Its quick and easy, and makes a lovely winter decor. I hope you like it!

Snowflake Christmas Card by Paula Pascual

Christmas is almost upon us, so last minute Christmas cards should be done now!

So here you have a quick idea using a small white square card as a base.

I first trimmed the patterned paper to be around 1 cm smaller than the card itself. Then I place the Warm Winter Wishes die on the paper, secure it with tape and die cut it using my Big Shot.
Then I die cut the snowflakes and assembled it all together.

The proud deer die Christmas card by Paula Pascual

Hello!

Today I am sharing two ideas on how to make Christmas cards using the same die, the Proud deer.

For this card I used:

I first Created the hills by roughly cutting the light brown card freehand. Then I distressed the edges using a medium brown distress ink. I attached them with foam pads to the card and then I added the die cut trees. i trimmed two of them so that there would be some variation on the height.

Then I die cut the deer using Kraft card. Then I stamped the message on a strip of card and attached it to the card. Finally I added the deer.

This second card is quicker to make but slightly more technical. I die cut the front of the card by placing the die in the middle, but making sure that one of my cutting plates wasn't all the way so that the die wouldn't cut the feet of the deer.

Then I stamped the message and added a strip of card at the bottom and on the inside.

The space at the bottom half is plenty of room for a simple Christmas message.

Wreath stamped card by Paula Pascual

I love wreath cards. So when I saw this set I decided I wanted to make a wreath card using the circle stamps.

I used:

Craft Asylum Snow Kisses Clear Stamp Set - 480234

Craft Asylum Snow Kisses Embellishment Set - 480227

Plus white card, clear blocks, adhesives and ink pads.

On a white card, I placed a 4" circle and traced around it with a pencil. You can use a cup or any large round object.
Then I stamped three large orange circles in a triangle sort of way. Then I went with the smaller stamps and different colours to randomly fill the areas in between around the penciled line.

Then I added the buttons and brad to fill in any gaps there were.

I stamped the message and then cut in a circle, stapled some ribbon and glued it to the card using foam pads.

Making quick and easy cards by Paula Pascual

Today I am sharing a simple card that I have made for when loads of cards are required in a short amount of time.

I used:

Craft Asylum Snow Kisses Clear Stamp Set - 480234

Craft Asylum Snow Kisses Embellishment Set - 480227

Inks, Adhesvies, acrylic blocks and glitter glue

I stamped the message in a separate piece of card and then trimmed round it.

Basically I have stamped the tree on the card using Versafine black ink, then over the top I stamp the solid foliage using a dye based ink.

Without cleaning it I stamped in the inside to create this lovely softer effect you get with a second impression. As you can see some of the black ink still was wet so it also transfered the black detail. Then I stamped the message form the same set.

Finally I added a bit of clear glitter glue to the branches to add some sparkle.

A scrapbooking style birthday card

Today I am sharing a birthday card that has a distinct scrapbook vibe.

Last time I did a layout using the same items, but this time I wanted to create a card to give that is completely personalise. 

Basically is a 6 x 4 card that has a photo of the receiver, to be a completely personal card. 

Here is what I used to make it:

• Candy 6 x 6" paper pad 
• Sizzix Big Shot 
• Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Bountiful Botany
• Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3pk Happiness Phrases

I die cut the Be happy - from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3pk Happiness Phrases - directly on the white 6 x 8 card. I then added the photo (layered on to a card from the 6 x6 paper pad) and added the die cut flowers and branch.

As the Be was hidden away, I die cut them again with pink paper (from the 6" pad) and attached them to the card.

The die cut on the card becomes almost a shadow.

I added one of the die cut card from the 12" pad inside.
