Easter Candy

Good Morning,

I hope your weekend has started off well.

Today I am very excited to share my first post using the gorgeous new collection from Craft Asylum called Candy.  The colours of this collection are fresh, modern and perfect for the coming months.

I have created a modern Easter card to share today.  When I first created this card I was planning on adding a regular sentiment such as Happy Easter but with the amazing die cut elements that come in the 12 x 12" Paper Pad I decided to put a modern spin on the card and just use 'Celebrate Today'.

To make the card:

1.  Using white cardstock create a 5 x 7" tent fold card blank.  Layer grey cardstock onto the front.
2. Add a layer of the heart patterned paper.   Adhere 2 border strips across the bottom half of the card.
3.  Trim a panel and die cut a square from the top half.  Adhere vellum into the cut out.
4.  Adhere this panel to the centre of the card and trim 2 eggs from pattered paper.
5.  Adhere the eggs to the panel and add a strip of paper across the centre of them.
6.  Add the 'Today' strip and trim the 'celebrate' sentiment.  Adhere to the side of the vellum panel.
7.  Use a few adhesive sparkles to embellish.

Materials:

White & grey cardstock
Vellum
Adhesive sparkles

I hope you like this project.  As always if you have any questions please let me know.
I will be back next weekend with some more inspiration.

Two happy cards

In keeping with the them of my latests posts, I can't keep away from making cards using the new Craft Asylum dies! I just love The way that a simple layered die cut adds so much dimension to the card.

For this first card I used Meadow Sweet 6x6 paper pad, the embellishments pack (ribbon and brad) as well as the Craft Asylum for Sizzix Meadow Butterfly set of dies.
On a white card I attached the paper that I already trimmed to size. Then I added the ribbon, the tag and the brad all from the embellishment pack. I die cut using my Big Shot machine the different layers of the butterfly using the different papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad and assemble them all together.

For the second card I used the Meadow Sweet 6x6 pad, I trimmed the water can paper to fit on a standard white card A6. I die cut the flowers and heart using papers from the same pack using the Woodland Flowers set of dies. I also die cut the banner using another of the Craft Asylum dies manufactured by Sizzix called Speech Bubbles. I assemble all the elements together and glue them down. Finally I added some ribbon, buttons and tag all from the Meadow sweet embellishment set.

Into The Woods Cute Owl Card

Hello ...

Today I want to share a cute and simple card with you, using the Into The woods Collection.  I have used both the papers and the Sizzix Craft Asylum dies to create this card.  I love the colours in this collection and the cute owl is just fabulous for adding to cards.

To create this card I have covered a tent fold card with patterned paper and inked the edges.  This collection works really well with a little ink as it helps bring the colours out.  I have added green paper to the base to give the effect of grass.  The Sizzix Thinlits Little Owl has been die cut from the 6 x 6" Into The Woods Paper Pad and pieced together.  For the rest of the card I have used elements from the 12 x 12" Into The Woods Paper Pad and ribbon and a brad from the Into The Woods Embellishment Set.

This is a great card for keeping in your card box ready for any occasion that might come up.  It's also a great way to show someone how much they mean to you.

Until next time ...

Happy crafting!

Spring Inspiration

Good Morning.

I hope this post finds you well and you are enjoying some of the lovely spring weather!

I have a very spring inspired post to share with you today, featuring the Meadow Sweet collection.  With the featured colours and the beautiful birds and butterflies it is a perfect product for your spring projects.

Here I covered a square card with patterned paper from the Meadow Sweet 6 x 6" Paper Pad.  I have then cut a square in the centre and added a blue panel behind using 3D foam pads.  The butterfly is from the Meadow Sweet 12 x 12" Paper Pad.  To create the sentiment I trimmed the square panel again from the 12 x 12" Paper Pad so that only the wording was used.  To finish I added the flower and embellishments from the Meadow Sweet Embellishment Set.

With lots of bright, vibrant colours and elements this is a perfect card for a spring birthday!

As always if you have any questions I would love to hear from you.

Have a lovely weekend!

A Happy die cutting flower card

Hello! Spring is coming and I am really happy about that!
So what bets than two cards?

For this one I used:
I die cut the different elements using a big shot and then arranged them on to an A6 folded white card. I attached them with foam pads.
I stamped the message from the Into the Woods set and finally I added some sparkly chevrons.

This one is a really quick simple card. I used a piece of the Hello Sushine paper (Craft Asylum Hello Sunshine 6"x6" Paper Pad) and  a die cut from the 12" pad (Craft Asylum Hello Sunshine 12"x12" Paper Pad). I then stamped the message using one of my own stamps and added some sparkle to the top. Simple!

A Little Bit Of Sunshine

Good Morning.

This week I haver met so many lovely Craft Asylum fans as I am here at the SECC in Glasgow doing Craft Asylum make & takes.

Today I want to share with you a very simple card using the Hello Sunshine collection.  The main focus of the card is the sentiment panel which comes in the 12 x 12" Paper Pad.

I have used the 12 x12" papers to cover the card blank and add a couple of coordinating panels.  The sentiment panel has been added and to decorate the card I have used the fabulous elements that come with the 12 x 12" Paper Pad.  A brad has been added to the centre of the sun to give dimension and ribbon added to the card to add texture.

These cards are great to have at home as they are fitting for an occasion and very handy for last minute cards.

Have a lovely weekend.
